"Kathryn has been more helpful than I ever thought a therapist could be. She is a lifesaver! If you have the opportunity to work with her, I suggest you seize it. " -John M.
"Kathryn has an insightful and helpful approach to dream work. A couple of weeks ago she walked me thru an exercise helping me process a dream. I had been at odds ALL day on this one and in just a few short minutes (17 to be exact) she had me "wowing". The understanding I had been craving and looking for all day appeared in an instant. She truly makes a difference!"- Melanie P.
"Kathryn is a great problem solver- she always hears me out completely, and then works with me on what skills to use and what to do next. Some of the things she has said to me play over and over in my head, she has made quite a positive impact on my life. I am very grateful for her. I don't know where I would be if it weren't for Kathryn."-Jennifer R.

Hello! Thank you for visiting my website! I have a Masters degree in counseling psychology from the University of San Francisco. As a seasoned clinician, my style is a direct & interactive approach using cognitive behavioral techniques & solution based techniques. I highly value the therapeutic relationship as one that is containing, nurturing, and growth-fostering; & my life's mission is to guide others to a more meaningful life. Therefore, every client of mine has a tailored, collaborated treatment plan that is designed to meet their needs, goals, and draws from their strengths.I often give small weekly goals to work towards to reach your ultimate goal. Afterall, you must practice the progress you want to see!
My specialties include but are not limited to depression/anxiety, life transitions, addictions of all kinds, substance abuse, trauma, eating/body image issues, and grief & loss. I have worked in some of the best & most intensive substance abuse/addiction rehabs centers in the Bay Area. Also I have led workshops, classes, & individual sessions in anger management, relationships, bereavement, anxiety, trauma, & PTSD coping techniques. I guide clients to address: life transitions such as divorce, break-ups, or job changes; dream interpretation; achieve a work/life balance in the corporate world; have effective time management; cope with over-stimulation, low self esteem & confidence. I sometimes will give resourceful literature, handouts on skills/ techniques, and do personality/ temperament inventories in session.
I strive to make every session interactive & useful.
My most important goal is that you benefit from each session.
